Naturalization

Naturalization is the process by which a foreign national becomes a U.S. citizen. To qualify, applicants must be lawful permanent residents for at least five years (or three years if married to a U.S. citizen), demonstrate good moral character, demonstrate continuous physical presence in the United States, and pass an English and civics test.  Applicants must file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and provide documentation to support their residency and eligibility, including tax returns and proof of residency.
